I wanted
to be
your Delegate
because you don't throw away a second chance.
Where I stand
As your Delegate, I want to represent you in Annapolis to ensure that we have the leadership that will fight on the issues that we care about the most. North County has been left behind too often when big decisions have been made and I want to make sure that our community has a seat at the table. We are facing a number of problems that we can only face when we come together and take bold measures. That is why I want to bring a fresh new vision to Annapolis that will ensure we do not pass on these challenges. As a candidate for Delegate here in District 12b, I do not just want to earn your vote, I want to serve you and our community effectively.
Economy
I want to help create an economy that invests in our small businesses and builds our middle class here in North County. Our state government should be an ally and partner in creating the economy residents deserve.
Environment
Maryland is defined by the Chesapeake Bay. And with the ongoing Climate Crisis, we cannot delay action to preserve our most treasured asset and to protect ourselves from environmental disaster. As your Delegate, I will support legislation to ensure Maryland does just that.
Education
As a parent, I will fight to ensure every student gets the schooling that they deserve by investing in our schools and educators to make sure that every child goes to a school that is ready to provide the education.
Public Safety
As a member of law enforcement, I know how to keep communities safe. I pledge to make sure that we are protecting residents and preventing crime across Maryland. Working with law enforcement, victims, and the community we can stop crime and protect our
community.
A native of Savannah Georgia, Gary moved to Amityville, New York at 12 years old, to be raised by his Aunt Rose and Uncle Jimmy along with their three children. Not only did they teach Gary valuable life skills, but they also taught him the value of serving his community wherever help is needed. His first youth internship was with his local county legislator’s office. It was during that experience Gary decided to pursue political science. Upon completion of high school, he enrolled at Tuskegee University to study political science and criminal justice. Upon his return to New York, he put his education from Tuskegee immediately to use and worked for the Suffolk County New York Board of Elections, Suffolk County Probation Office, and the United States Attorney’s Office (New York Eastern District) Weed and Seed joint law enforcement task force and anti-crime program as their Program Director.

In 2006, Gary relocated to Maryland to start his family and began his career as a Special Police Officer with the Department of Defense at Bolling Air Force Base and later Andrews Air Force base 316th security forces squadron (SPO) also as Program manager and (SPO’s) Captain at the United States Publishing Office in Washington DC before retiring in 2017. Upon retirement, he worked as a temporary staff assistant at Lindale Middle School in Linthicum, Maryland.

Gary desires to serve citizens of Anne Arundel County in a larger capacity. His three key areas of focus are: Education, Environment, and our local Economy. Of course, he looks forward in getting out into our community to learn and advocate for issues that are most important to citizens.
